Treviso was one of our most pleasant surprise while exploring the Veneto region. We first chose it becuase it looked like a camper friendly city on our way to or from Ljubljana. The municipality offers a camper stop with free service area and parking facilities for 48h. The camper stop in only 10 minutes walking distance from the historical city center and we found that discovering the city on foot is very easy.
The historic center is actually quite small, so you can go around in the narrow streets and walk your way back to your camper in less than 30 minutes wherever you are in the historical city. We were amazed by the charm of this city during daytime and nightime alltogether. The historical city centers offers a delightful mix of history, culture, and family-friendly activities.
Here are some of the things we recommend to do in case you decide to visit this charmful city:
- visit Piazza dei Signori, the vibrant heart of Treviso;
- take a leisurely stroll along Treviso’s canals. The city is often compared to Venice because of its network of waterways, but it has a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. Wander through the narrow streets, cross the picturesque bridges, and take in the views of the beautifully preserved medieval architecture.
- take a leisurely walk along the Sile River, which winds its way through Treviso. The tranquil riverside path is perfect for a family stroll, and there are plenty of spots where the kids can watch ducks and boats. The calm atmosphere makes it a great place to relax and unwind.
