The legend goes that King Charles IV discovered the springs of Karlovy Vary during a deer hunt around 1350 and he granted the spa privileges of a free royal city on 1370 next to the Hot Spring.
The settlement’s flavours have diversified over the years. Karlovy Vary hosts an international film festival for over 50 years, its architectural richness is definitely worth the visit and its springs are some of the best in the world.
