Nafplio was the first capital of modern Greece and a “must” if you visit Peloponnese. The city itself is an 8th century Venetian pearl and the Palamidi Fortress offers spectacular views over the Aegean Sea.
Make sure you don’t miss the Italianate Syntagma Square with its most admired historical buildings and monuments, the Archaeological Museum with its important artifacts from the Prehistoric and Mycenaean Era and, nevertheless, the Municipal Gallery which stands out by itself.
